Unlikely
2011

George Perec once said “Space is a doubt: I have constantly to mark it, to designate it. It’s never mine, never given to me, I have to conquer it.” in reflection, the work explores the invisible barrier created due to the corporal and cultural displacement, followed by the recurring eagerness to distinguish a place to feel at home at. The artist’s fascination with the paradox of the security and the fragility of home is reflected in the materials and the location used, turning a wall of a Limerick building into an exhibition space.

Unlikely, was the night where art and music merge together, questioning the relationships between people, places, objects and traditions, and their indiscreet and often elliptical histories. Featuring a talk by an emerging Irish composer Kevin Terry followed by a launch of his award winning chamber work.
The project was developed in 2011 with the support of Like Studios members Mike O'Brien, Steve Maher, Shane Harrington and Gary Dempsey.
